Title:
User Group Meeting - July 7
Begin:
7/7/2004 7:00 PM
End:

Description:
Steve Clarke (Infotech Canada) will be presenting to us on Continuous Integration Using NAnt and CruiseControl.NET

Continuous integration is the strategy of making sure that changes to the project’s codebase are built, tested and reported on as soon as possible after they are introduced.

This assumes several prerequisites:

·         Your code is maintained in a central location, preferably a source code control product like Subversion or Visual SourceSafe.

·         You have made a build script of some kind, like a NAnt .build file or a Make script.

·         Optionally, you have included unit tests in the codebase as part of the project

In this presentation, Steve Clarke will discuss the benefits of continuous integration using automated build tools. He will focus specifically on two tools to achieve these goals:

NAnt - a popular automated build tool written in .NET
CruiseControl.NET - probably the most popular of the continuous integration servers built entirely in .NET

You'll learn how to get each tool up and running with an example of an end-to-end software development project that makes use of these tools.
